Nightmare Dungeons and Sigils
Nightmare Dungeons also received a notable overhaul, making them more balanced and rewarding. Crafting Nightmare Dungeon Sigils is straightforward, with the difficulty scaling tied directly to your World Tier, rather than having a separate 1-100 difficulty system. This makes the dungeons much more accessible and straightforward. The materials gathered from Nightmare Dungeons, such as Abduosite, are plentiful, although currently, it’s the only material dropping due to limited access to other areas like the Undercity.
To start your first Nightmare Dungeon, you’ll need to visit the Tree of Whispers and complete a turn-in. This may require multiple attempts to get your first sigil, but once you’re set up, the dungeons provide a solid challenge and ample rewards.
Masterworking and Itemization Changes
Masterworking has seen some changes as well. Now, when you get a new item, even at the highest Legendary Power levels (around 750), you’re only allowed to temper one stat at a time, maxing out at four affixes until you reach an ancestral item, which allows for two. This new system feels more balanced, and the tempering costs have been adjusted to revolve primarily around Obsidianite, moving away from the previous system of three distinct crafting materials.
This change streamlines the crafting process but still leaves room for deeper customization, especially when working on ancestral or Mythic uniques. Crafting these items now involves a dedicated forging process at the blacksmith, which adds another layer of depth to item management.
Jeweler and Grand Jewels Update
One of the most exciting changes involves the Jeweler and the introduction of Grand Jewels. These aren’t just your ordinary gems—rubies, for instance, no longer only grant HP but now also offer strength bonuses. The rework includes five key stats: strength, barrier generation, dexterity, intelligence, and willpower, with diamonds providing all-stat boosts and skulls offering enhanced armor and healing. Grand Jewels now grant 12% all resistances instead of the previous 8%, making them a worthwhile investment, despite the high crafting cost of 10 million gold.

The inventory system has also been reorganized, with separate slots for equipment, socketable items, consumables, dungeon keys, and potentially even runes in the future. A notable addition in the PTR is the increased frequency of world bosses, now appearing every hour instead of the usual three.
